Two Different Dawns

Disc One: The Dawn Of The Moon

01. A Tribal Invocation

Instrumental

02. The 49th Moonless Night

Fire flies towards the sky
People dancing all around
Flames reflected in their eyes
Shadows dancing on the ground

Elders sing their words of repent
Ancient heroes long forgotten
Called again to save their present
From becoming dead and rotten
Younger bodies twist their arms
Move their knees in music rhythm
All they trust is well known customs
And comfort of superstitions
Children mesmerized again
They look in their parents' eyes
Never known and never cared
For the problems this world hides

No silver shade upon the water of the rivers
No wolf is howling in the middle of the night

Stories heard reading their bodies
Translating the shapes and colours
Idols, gods or hunting trophies
Testimony for their values
Minute skulls hanged from their ears
Bones and splints piercing the skin
Burned out mazes to conceal
Secrets of the deep within

No silver light to join the green the glow worms cast
No map on which to read the passing of the time

Up in the sky, where they consign
The holy essence of their lives
There sits a god, a sacred sign
Singing his name shivers their spine
Down on the ground they have a stone
Shaped by the image of their god
An idol to portray their hope
And to remind them where to come
Inside a house, there sits a priest
He finds serenity in words
And now with hollow voice he sings
A prayer from his vocal cords

No silver gleam to mystify the watchful eye
No human in the sky to guard the restless night

Glade into the jungle’s sameness
They built their town inside of it
Protection from the wilderness
A sanctuary they try to keep
Their home for a thousand years
Born and died within its walls
Perfect place to escape fears
And easily elude their foes

No silver light from which the stars could take their glow
No stunning muse for future’s artists on the sky

Over the rooftops and the trees
Over the mountain and its might
You raise your eyes and you can see
The forty ninth moonless night

03. Two Dawns

Two children born from father’s eyes
Girl from the left, boy from the right
And both took place into the sky
To glow and shine with all their might

A marathon forced to engage
Five billion years of his life
So little time to take a rest
Replenish all the strength inside
Today he walks the land again
A child at seven years old
Tonight he takes his time to rest
Grey haired and moving very slow
But milk will bring the youth again
His mother with protective eyes
Awaits for him to clean his hands
Tonight and every single time

A life of thief forced to endure
To live in dark, to hide her face
So little time to warm her core
Remembering his mild embrace
Tonight she takes her preset course
To help the stars to lit the night
The day will never see her force
Nor will she never know her might
Young as she is she starts to grow
Bigger and rounder in the sky
Until she’s old into her soul
Pale, smaller and undefined

Two children born from father’s eyes
Girl from the left, boy from the right
And both took place into the sky
To separate the day from night

Over the rooftops and the trees
Over the mountain and its might
You raise your eyes and you can see
The universe stars to collide
Brother and sister, hand in hand
A permanent full sun eclipse
This love so hard to understand
Might be the end of everything

Two children born from father’s eyes
Girl from the left, boy from the right
And both took place into the sky
To reunite the day and night

04. The Council Of Elders

The sun now wears a mask, we cannot see his face
He sends no light to us, we lack his worm embrace
The world, it feels so cold, this night will never end
We cannot even hunt, all of our senses dead
The nature starts to die; we feel it in the air
The pressure seems to rise, he doesn’t even care
All water turned to ice, how can we even hope?
All of our history is running down the slope
The cycles are reversed and everything is changed
The beings are confused, they’re acting very strange
We’ll soon run out of food, we’re running out of air
Our world is dying fast, he doesn’t even care

We have to act somehow; we need to find a way
We cannot sit and wait and watch it slip away
It might be late by now but something must be done
We have to force our wits and come out with a plan

We gathered here this day, the eldest from our town
All hope is turned on us, we cannot let them down
God put us though a test, his will we cannot ask
We have to raise our head and overcome this task

But we are old by now; we do not have the strength
The quest is toilsome; we cannot run its length
Four heroes we must call, they have to fight for us
They have to travel north, and do whatever must

05. Four Heroes

Born from earthquake
On the last drought the world knew
Life inspired
By the lines the mountains drew
Inside – stillness
The ideas never seep
Outside – greatness
An inspiring leadership

Born from the wind
Easy as the falling leaves
Walks in shadows
Common eyes won’t catch a glimpse
Fast as thunder
Running faster than its prey
Sharper senses
Always help him find his way

Born from sea storm
Grown up on the giant wave
All day swimming
At night resting in a cave
Proved much stronger
Than the spirit of the priest
Mother water
Is the nature of his will

Born from hell’s fire
He erupted in a myth
Not compliant
To the rules of deep beneath
Full of vigour
Like the spreading of a storm
Full of anger
For the realm which gave him form

06. Leaving Towards Foreign Lands

Instrumental

07. Labyrinth

We stopped again to take a rest
This everlasting night is messing with our minds
The path we always knew elopes
And hides all passages amidst uncertain traps

We laid our camp into a glade
With grass unfurled under our feet
I’ve never seen this place before
These rocks are unfamiliar to me

We left the place refreshed and keen
We are now following the guiding trees again
At least we see the destination peak
As it arises stronger and darker through the air

And we emerged into a glade
With grass unfurled under our feet
I think I’ve seen this place before
These rocks look so familiar to me

I lost the number of the days
I lost my way and my ability to lead
I’m like a fish inside a pond
Palsied, unable to remember how to swim

And we emerged into a glade
With grass unfurled under our feet
I think I’ve seen this place before
These rocks look so familiar to me

The purpose rises in our minds
It gives us strength to walk the forest’s labyrinth
The mountain hums and calls my name
Providing maps to find the passages through mist

And we emerged onto a plane
With grass unfurled under our feet
This is the place we had to reach
And down below we feel the sea

08. Shooting Stars

The last clouds are gathering above
Their strength is furious no more
He spreads the wings of the machine
To catch the wind they start to throw
And operating from the top
He took them all under his wings
To pass the desert sea below
And so they ride the breath of wind
A lightning broke the line of night
And then a thunder set the tone
But none of them remembered how
They used to terrify before

The water plunging from the sky
Changes consistence right away
From liquid now it turns to ice
Cold needles flying constantly

But there’s no landing spot below
The desert sea looks dangerous
A vast landscape of nothingness
The proper place for threats to grow
A distant island in the sight
Coming to shape before their eyes
With every lightning that erupts
Like fire pouring from the sky
And in the middle thrones a fire
Breathing the now so rarely air
It sends a weird invitation
There is the place they have to land

With every needle he endures
Cold icicles shiver his spine
That island must be reached somehow
Gathering strength he holds his life

It siphons breath away from him
This rain was send to hold them back
Slowly, to desert they descend
The island still being so far

09. The Wind Stopped Blowing

Instrumental

10. Leviathan

They are now walking the sea
For it has frozen on the surface
There is no creature deep beneath
To disapprove their interference
Or so they think…

The sea became a wasteland
They climb on dunes of icy waves
For them, this land opens its hands
To welcome them into their graves
It’s like a dream…

The land was silent as a crypt
But as their feet rustled the desert
A thunder cracked from underneath
Becoming conscious of their presence
So it begins…

May those who curse days curse that day
Those who are ready to rouse Leviathan

A light is rising from the deep
His eyes and whitish skin are blindingly glowing
By his neesings a light doth shine
And his eyes are like the eyelids of the morning
The meanest creature in the sea
Could easily fill his mouth with its vast body
And he can send a heat so great
The water starts to boil when he is hungry

Can you pull in the Leviathan with a fishhook?
Or tie down his tongue with a rope?
Can you put a cord through his nose?
Or pierce his jaw with a hook?

The beast erupted through the ice
Its howl opened up the sky so it could pass
Ten minutes took it to arise
And cage the heroes, stopping them into their task
A wall surrounding them for miles
Taller than a mountain, longer than a river
The ruler of this frozen desert
Showing all the might it gathered through the years

Can you pull in the Leviathan with a fishhook?
Or tie down his tongue with a rope?
Can you put a cord through his nose?
Or pierce his jaw with a hook?

So it begins
The mountain grows
The river spins

It’s like a dream
The beast unfurls
They can’t succeed

Or so they think
Hanged from its gills
Lies the Kilbit

It was you who crushed the heads of Leviathan
And gave him as food to the creatures of the desert

11. A Warning And A Guiding Heat

An invitation to explore the forest
He is the only one who feels the call
There is a heat that sends its limbs
And pulls him into the impossible

And then a howl broke the silence
The night activity was petrified
It was some sort of warning sign
Coming from something ill designed

They have a choice in front of them
But it is plain to see the answer now
Whoever howled at their presence
Should be prepared to make his vows

And they trust nothing but the fire
They saw from up there in the sky
They welcome instinct in their group
To substitute the one who died

Little by little they approach the heat
He feels it in his heart that they are close
The silence gives the creeps to all of them
It’s always better when you hear your foes

And walking through this island’s jungle
And through the darkness of this evil
It’s taking all the best of their strengths
But they continue without fear

The light is breaking through the trunks
So they all feel the warmth he felt before
Not a heat their bodies are receiving
But more a sense of accomplishment

And when they left the forest in the back
And saw the temple from beyond the light
They knew their instinct served them good
They felt the source of this eternal night

12. Unknown Enemy

The stars were not aligned that night
A day before the Lord was born
And all the signs were meant to warn
That day was not the perfect one
After the line that brought to them
Six daughters one after another
He came onto this world a boy
And he was named after his father
Not Bento, no, he wasn’t called
And so not safe from destiny
He had black hair onto his head
The colour of his future deeds

And on a Friday summer night
He slept outside just for a change
And so the fullest moon was there
Shining directly on his face
That’s when he knew about his fate
That’s when he felt the urge to kill
And a desire to reap flesh
Began to take the best of him
The strangest urge got in his mind
He had to do it for his needs
And a desire to eat flesh
Got in his head, refused to leave

The first time when he changed his form
Was like the living hell on earth
His jaws were shut, he could not speak
And just for blood he felt a thirst
Just as a rabid-like disease
His eyes were sparkling in the dark
As he was looking for some help
His breathing got extremely loud
Hair became the clothes he wore
His limbs were moving on their own
His face transcended to a grim
Over himself he lost control

But he got used to this new life
And soon began to praise its goods
He got himself another name
One worthy that reflects the truth
From that day he was Lycaon
Just as the cruel king long gone
That stood a mad man before Zeus
And served him the meat of his son
The only drawback was the moon
That never was full on the sky
When he needed this the most
When it was critical to shine

Disc Two: The Dawn Of The Sun

01. The Fight Begins

Awaiting at the entrance stood the werewolf
And he was laughing at the heroes’ numbers
He howled once again and from the forest
Appeared every kind of nature’s creepy product

They were encircled by a ring of dancing teeth
And back in back the heroes took a stand
Bewildered by the paralyzing screams
Praying and hoping and so the fight began

Jumping
And blocking
Protecting one another from the coming strokes
Attacking
And striking
The enemies were coming in waves and rows
Running
And hiding
From the blows and hits that were to strong
Preparing
And waiting
For the perfect moment to take their tolls

They got the quakes
They got the waves
They got the fire in their hearts

They got their hands
They got their legs
They got the beating in their hearts

They took them down, the allies of the werewolf died
The blood of enemies already frozen on the ground
Their leader cowered out and took shelter inside
Perhaps preparing traps to take them down

But this fight was a triumph for the better kind
And though the victory requested to be proud
They could not celebrate or sing some songs
Cause water was already frozen on the ground

02. Water Was Not Enough

Instrumental

03. Temple Of Light And Darkness

Written in pictures on the walls
There were engravings made by foreign people
If they would come somehow to life
Maybe they could have seen across the riddles

All secrets hidden
All answers lost
Behind engravings from the past

Each chamber bigger than the last
Imposing nothingness on smaller beings
The columns that might reach the sky
Surpassing each and every single limit

All secrets hidden
All answers lost
Between the vastness of those halls

Temple for the light and darkness
Built by the gods to watch the sky
Control the possible mistakes
That could occur and alter life

There sit an old astronomer
Entrusted with a sacred task
A watchman for the endless blue
That holds above the glowing stars

They found him in a hidden room
Gasping for breath, tied to the bone
They gave him food and water too
So he could tell about his role

04. The Astronomer’s Theory, Part One: An Impossible Love

To understand the present situation
One must look into the stories of the old
Before the world we know took shape
Everything about that story must be told

There were two children born from gods
From their father’s two keen eyes
We know them as the sun and moon
Girl from the left, boy from the right

But soon she fell in love with him
And went to tell her secret love
But when he heard about this thing
He ran away to distant lands
He said that he is just enough
For this world to be burnt away
What if they go on with their love
And have their children on the sky?
There will be so much more to take
And everything will burn to ground
The world will disappear fast
In smoke and ash into its dusk

He ran away to unseen lands
He travelled up and down for long
And in the brightest hell he saw
The punishments for secret love
But when he visited the heaven
And saw how happiness takes shape
He felt an urgency to go
And make the moon his big mistake
But now the faith is playing harsh
And she don’t want him anymore
But where there’s hope there is a plan
He went and knocked at future’s door

He built the longest bridge for her
Just she could walk over the sea
To reach the distant untouched land
And live there for eternity
And then he built a castle on the shore
With towers that could reach so high
To take them closer to their home
Up there into the endless sky
She changed her mind and came to sense
And everything worked for the best
They were prepared to live as one
But then he interfered at last

The god of everything that is
Separated them forever
He placed them into other worlds
So they could never be together
He told him he could run the sky
And try to catch the one he loves
But this would never come to past
For she is running too as well
And so they ran for all their lives
You see them up there on the sky
Trying to reach the other’s trail
Boy in the day, girl in the night

05. The Astronomer’s Theory, Part Two: Strings In Stories Of The Old

There is a cave he calls his home
Where he is sleeping all night long
He gathers strength for one more day
In which to search the world for her
He never leaves the cave at night
Nothing can part him from his rest
There is devotion in his heart
And he could never lose his head

The werewolf found the ancient tales
And turned his interest to them
He might have found a string to use
In his advantage and our end
He found the cave but he could not
Drew the attention of the sun
He tried in many ways but none
Drew the attention of the sun

Eventually he found a way
He brought a rooster and a tree
He placed the rooster near the cave
And made him do his job and sing
And in the tree he hanged some things
A mirror somewhere at its half
And he used marbles as a lure
He put them right there at the top

And so the sun got up prepared
To start another day with light
He saw the stars, he saw the moon
But he was weakened by the night
He started to climb up the tree
Higher with every branch he reached
Those marbles were attracting him
They were like stars and one may think
The tree is taller than the sky
And he could climb up to the moon
So he did travelled through the leaves
Hopping to reach his darling soon

He saw the mirror and his face
He thought he is another god
But still continued on his way
To reach the marbles at the top

He got there and he felt destroyed
Someone was playing with his heart
He felt ashamed and got back down
Where someone stood near the trunk

That’s how he found the game that god
Was playing with him and the moon
And tricked to think the one he saw
Was promised to her as a groom

The werewolf told that he could help
The sun had just to sit and wait
Continuing with his routine
The sun had just to sit and wait

He needed them to reunite
When he was shining on the sky
That’s why he made the sun to wait
For forty nine long days and nights

And then he tricked the moon to rest
And gather forces for that day
When she would climb up on the sky
And take her long awaited place

06. The Astronomer’s Theory, Part Three: What Must Be Done?

I could’ve stop the evil architecture
From nesting everything in its wrong place
It was my legacy to keep the stars unbind
One simple task for one man’s fate

And now I stand ashamed before my gods
But there is still a chance for this to end
We have to separate the moon from sun
And cleanse the werewolf as a threat

One word depicts the situation best
Each one of us might have to sacrifice
The sun, the moon, their secret love
Your unmarked youth, my place, my life

What better place to start than the beginning?
What life to take than that of an unlawful one?
What better catalyst could I induce to you
Than thinking that tomorrow may still come?

07. One For Another

Before the altar was the source
Of everything capsized and lost
Hidden behind an altered form
Showing his back and nothing more

Near the entrance stood the hope
Not looking to express his thoughts
Not searching for the better words
Just studying the blackest fur

And in between, the stench of war
Was boiling up above the floor
The tension of a coming brawl
Was echoing amidst the walls

There was a silent dialogue
A moment for a dismal song
As gloomy as the river long
The time itself was put on hold

And then the sand began to fall
The silent hourglass was turned
And every grain of sand controlled
The echo of a closing source

And then the sand began to fall
The silent hourglass was turned
And every grain of sand controlled
The echo of a dying hope

08. Unearthed

Instrumental

09. Separation Of Brother And Sister

In the protecting arms of lie
A hidden danger never hurts
What good to know of dying worlds
When you can hold your favourite light?
And who’s to blame for happiness?
And why should someone stop the flow?
The time is never growing old
But chances die by fortune’s hand

The burning heat is glowing white
The shadow of their love is strong
He hides behind her perfect forms
She hides him from the people’s sight
Is there another world than yours
When the desired wish is met?
Do you remember how you felt
When you were running from the cold?

What little difference does is make
If you go on with your delight?
Why do you always have to fight
For what is only yours to take?
You don’t do anything to them
And so by this you hurt them more
And you would like to hide the core
But this is what they want to share

Don’t count on your resistance now
The heart of love burns even more
Don’t try to start or stop this war
It’s gonna bring you down somehow
And how can you explain to them
They have to stop this perfect dream?
A danger that cannot be split
Without paying the price of death

10. Fire To Ashes

Instrumental

11. Two Different Dawns

Two children born from father’s eyes
Girl from the left, boy from the right
And both took place into the sky
To reunite the day and night

But history holds other plans
You cannot change the will of gods
Your wishes don’t meet the demands
Keep them inside, don’t make them mad
The sky requests his different dawns
The world must have two different states
No reason can be good enough
To change what was designed by fate

Two children born from father’s eyes
Girl from the left, boy from the right
And both took place into the sky
To separate the day from night

Over the rooftops and the trees
Over the mountain and its might
There is no more a full eclipse
The sun is sharing all his light
Brother and sister, pulled apart
A permanent way to seclude
This love so hard to understand
Casted aside for greater goods

Two children born from father’s eyes
Girl from the left, boy from the right
And both took place into the sky
To glow and shine with all their might

12. For The Greater Good

The wind stopped blowing in his heart
He gave his life for human kind
There’ll be no shadows anymore
You can presume he hides inside

But do they know the sacrifice?

The water frozen on the ground
No more in waves he will return
This certain drop that will be missed
By every creature of the ocean

But do they know the sacrifice?

His body lies beside his foe’s
An honour for the greater ones
To keep his memory alive
The earth will hum and quake in songs

But do they know the sacrifice?

The fire stopped lighting his eyes
He left the burning underground
And never got to see his dream
He died for bringing peace around

But do they know the sacrifice?

The astrologer spent his life
Inside a temple they forgot
So many years lived alone
With no one he could share a walk

But do they know the sacrifice?

They put aside their sacred love
For us to have our precious flow
And now they run to catch a sight
One of each other as they go

But do they know the sacrifice?
